Dr. Simone Steel
Dr Simone Steel graduated with a degree in medicine from Newcastle University (NSW) in 1998. She completed her specialist training in Medical Oncology in Victoria in 2008 and has had experience at a number of oncology units including Eastern Health, and Royal Melbourne Hospital. She then completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at the Austin Hospital, as part of their clinical trials centre. Simone is currently a consultant oncologist at Eastern Health as well as Peninsula Private Hospital. She is a general oncologist but has a subspecialty interest in gastrointestinal and lung cancers as well as clinical research trials. She is a member of Medical Oncology Group of Australia, American Society of Clinical Oncology as well as the subspecialty interest groups International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, Australian Lung Cancer Trials Group and the Australian Gastrointestinal Trials Group.
In 2020, Simone will raise money for gastrointestinal cancer research by climbing 7,126m of mountain, Himlung Himal in Nepal. Please click this link to donate and support her challenge.
